Silver Salmon fishing is CLOSED on the Russian River. We are put at higher risk due to these activities. Rainbow Trout and Dolly Varden fishing is improving steadily, but still slow and spotty. Kenai River Fishing Whether you like to Troll, Cast or fly fish, the Kenai is the place for you. Rainbow Trout fishing continues to be outstanding on many stretches of the Russian River. Trout fishing on the middle river continues to be good as well as on the Upper Upper and Refuge. Very few Silvers have been spotted, so it may be a bit too early for them. Please, for the sake of our community, we ask that you seriously consider the ramifications of traveling here from an outside community. Please be patient with each other out there as tensions have been running a bit high with all the pressure. As we head towards January, look for similar conditions with the Coho Salmon Spawn tapering off. Please remember no bait and single hook only. Several Coho (Silver) Salmon are still spawning, so fresh-looking 8mm beads dead-drifted under an indicator are also a good choice, especially if you are able to target trout from a boat. Please use caution when fishing and floating the Upper Kenai River over the next week or so. The trout fishing has been good, but in small pockets.
